Causing Trouble

Brian is gone on a wildland fire up the Bridger canyon. A little sad that I am going to be spending my Sunday ALL alone at home I have decided to take drastic measures! I will be redoing the guest bedroom bookcase. Like the picture below but white and yellow and not ugly! Oh boy here we go!

Let It Be Known...

That this is what I want for Christmas! If I can wait that long...

It is a handheld espresso maker made by mypressi and Martha says that it makes a great shot! Finally an affordable way to make good espresso at home! Brian has been sent an e-mail with the link. Now all I need is a good steamer for steamed milk and chai...hint....hint!

Fall

I am actually getting excited for fall which sort of surprises me since I feel like I missed my summer. Here are the things that I am excited for...

  1. A good excuse to make pumpkin bread, apple pie, pumpkin pie, etc...(also known as a good excuse to get chubby!)

  2. The best apple pie EVER!

  3. Fall decorating.

  4. Fall Scents: Pumpkin and apple cider candles and scents. I went into Bath and Body Works(which I hardly ever do...to much of an overload for my nose) for bubble bath and started smelling their fall home scents. I walked out with a wall plug-in with one pumpkin patch smell and two replacement scents called Leaves. It is heavenly, I melt every time I walk through the dining room.

  5. Everything turning colors.

  6. The holiday season, yeah that's right I am EXCITED for Christmas ALREADY!

  1. And last but maybe the most important, the fall line up for TV shows! I am talking Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, The Amazing Race, and Gossip Girl. No Brian doesn't get to watch anything on TV until spring...It is good for him!

Last Weekend

Last weekend my parents came over and we painted the master bedroom and bathroom. Here are some pictures from our painting fun! I had before and after pictures but my camera decided to have major issues and make two pictures with the same file names. The thumbnails on my computer are before pictures and the actual file is after pictures. SO FRUSTRATING! Enjoy the during and after pics!

Laundry Room

Today we taped the master bedroom and bathroom in preperation for my parentals to come and help us paint tomorrow. When we went to pick out paint colors I decided that their was no reason for us to get samples and go back home to see what I thought of them in the room or any of that nonsense. Their was no reason why I couldn't be desicive and just pick two colors in the store and then bring them home.

After picking a goldish tan color for the bedroom and a gray blue color for the bathroom we headed home. We got home and I walked into the room, looked at the paint sample card and was like, "ugh, it is kinda dark for the room." Oh well though, it will look fine...right?!?!

I will post pictures of the during and after tomorrow or Monday. To hold you over though I have pictures of laundry rooms that I love. One of the things that my stepdad (who is a carpenter) is going to do is measure our laundry room for cabinets that he is going to make for us. Right now we are in need of storage for things like our mob, broom, vacum, cleaning supplies, laundry stuff, extra itemns (paper towels, kleenex, light bulbs, etc.), and possibly linens.

Our laundry room right now.

I love the ones that have counters over the washer and dryer. I also would love to have a tall cabinet that will definately hold a broom, mop and vacum.

Decorating

I am making a lot of plans to decorate the house. Most of them receive eye rolls from Brian, but I forge ahead (he loves me, I can get him to agree to anything within reason...right?!) So....I love the new trends in wallpaper and want to think that I am brave enough and have enough design sense to wallpaper at least a wall right?

I was thinking this master bedroom wall, which you can see from the rest of the house if the door to the room is open (our bed is in the same spot.)

And these are the wallpapers that I am considering:

Harlequin: Passion in Duck Egg Blue

Prestigious Reflections: Divine Porcelain

I love both of them, unfortunately they are both only available in the UK and the shipping costs the same as the wallpaper does. But still semi affordable...semi...! I think I am going to have to order samples!

In the meantime my parents are going to come over on Sunday and help us paint the bedroom a tan/gold color and paint the bathroom a light gray blue color. I am excited and a little nervous to see how it turns out!

I what do you think about my desire to paint and the wallpaper choices?

Dark Age

So I kind of feel like we are living in the dark age and it has been nice. Our Internet and cable will not be set up at the house until next Tuesday. Which is one of the reasons why I have not really updated the blog at all. I want to post all the pictures I took of us moving but without the Internet at home it is a little hard.

Without cable or Internet to distract us it has been nice. We sat on the back patio last night and talked and have been getting things done around the house. We absolutely love the house and are surprised by some of the things that feel like luxuries. I love parking in the garage and just walking into the house, it is something that I didn't think I would enjoy but I do. Having all new appliances is also nice, even though I live in fear of breaking something!

We have been having lawn drama, but that is a story for a different time! Hopefully we will get it all figured out. My parents are going to come and help us paint the bedroom on Sunday and stay the night. I am very excited for that! Sometime next week I will post a bunch of awesome pictures!

"I can't imagine that it will take more than 45 minutes!"

Those were famous last words! That is what I told Brian when he asked me how long he should get someone to cover command for him while we signed all of the papers for our house. I scheduled it for 11:15am yesterday thinking that I would be home and in bed by 12:15pm. I am was so naive! I was home and in bed by 1:30pm (in case anyone cares that made 24hrs without sleep for me!)

Signing definitely took longer than I thought, but it was totally worth it! We got our house and we couldn't be any more excited! The final figures were less than what we were originally thinking which was nice, since we stressed a lot about the final figures.

Since our schedules are so opposite (esp. with me working 12 hour shifts the first couple weeks of school) we didn't even have a chance to go over to the house and take a picture, or drink a glass of celebratory champagne. We are hoping to do that tonight!
